460 Casina Bric, Barolo
Producer:460 CASINA.BRIC, Piedmont, Italy
On the one hand, a harvest of great quality for wines that will treat our senses to exquisite pleasure; on the other, a year of change for Giancluca Viberti. Twenty were the vintages, and twenty the years spent in the company owned by my parents, to whom I owe the deepest gratitude and esteem. A journey in the constant pursuit of quality, driven by enthusiasm, and by passion and love for the vine and wine.

Sadly, as a result of a lack of equilibrium and the conditions for a future of rebuilding and change, the decision was taken last June to leave the company, buying out part of the estate vineyards in addition to new vineyards within the “Bricco delle Viole” cru in the village of Barolo.

I like to call it - with a touch of pride - “a winery on a human scale”, as is the farm itself, with its vineyards almost entirely growing Nebbiolo grapes for Barolo wine, as well as a historic Barbera d’Alba vineyard dating back to 1943.

460 casina.bric together represent the corporate name and brand name: the number corresponds to the
altitude in meters of the winery and the surrounding vineyards, while “casina.bric” is the name recorded in the land register for “Cascina Bricco” in Barolo, as pronounced in the Piedmontese dialect because that is how it is called by all the local residents.
